Privacy notice

This notice explains how Silver Lining Stays uses personal information when you visit this website or send a property enquiry.

Last updated 2 October 2026.

Who is responsible

SILVER LINING STAYS LTD is the controller of the personal information described in this notice. The company is registered in England and Wales under company number 16785243, with its registered office at Flat 1, 5 Norbury Avenue, Thornton Heath, England, CR7 8AH. Privacy enquiries can be sent to info@silverliningstays.com.

Information we collect

When you send a property enquiry, we collect your name, email address, optional phone number, the location and type of property, its bedroom count, likely availability and anything you add to the message field.

Our website and security providers may also process technical information needed to deliver and protect the service, including an IP address, browser and device information, request records and the result of an anti-abuse check.

If you choose Statistics in Privacy choices, we also collect information about how you use the website: the pages you visit, the enquiry steps you reach, your device and browser type, approximate location worked out from your IP address, the campaign or website that brought you here, and recordings of page activity in which anything you type into our forms is hidden. This is linked to a random identifier in a cookie, not to your name.

Why we use it and our lawful basis

We use enquiry information to assess and respond to your request, discuss whether the property may be suitable, arrange a conversation or visit where appropriate, prevent misuse and keep a necessary record of the exchange. We do this to take steps at your request before a possible agreement and for our legitimate interests in operating and protecting the business and responding to genuine enquiries.

If you choose Statistics, we use that information to understand how the website is used and improve it, and to see which campaigns or websites bring enquiries. We rely on your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.

Cloudflare Turnstile may make an automated security assessment to help distinguish a genuine enquiry from automated abuse. It does not decide whether your property is commercially suitable and does not make a contractual decision about you. We do not make decisions about you based solely on automated processing that have legal or similarly significant effects.

Do you have to give us your information?

No, but we need your name, email address and property details to respond to an enquiry. Statistics are always optional.

Who receives it

Information is handled by authorised people operating Silver Lining Stays and by service providers needed to run the website, protect the enquiry form and deliver email. These currently include Cloudflare for website delivery and bot protection, Resend for email delivery and Microsoft (Microsoft 365) for our business email, where enquiries arrive. We do not sell enquiry information.

If you choose Statistics, Google (Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager) and Cloudflare (Web Analytics) process that information on our behalf. You can read how Google uses information from sites that use its services at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites. Microsoft provides Microsoft Clarity as an independent controller. Its terms allow it to use Clarity data for its own purposes, including to provide Microsoft Advertising, under the Microsoft Privacy Statement at privacy.microsoft.com/privacystatement. We always tell Clarity not to use advertising storage, and Microsoft states that Clarity then shares no data with Microsoft Advertising.

Some of these providers process information in the United States. Google, Microsoft and Cloudflare rely on the UK Extension to the EU–US Data Privacy Framework (the UK–US data bridge) and, where needed, standard contractual clauses with the UK Addendum. Resend relies on standard contractual clauses with the UK Addendum.

How long we keep it

We keep enquiry information only while it is needed to respond, assess the proposed relationship and maintain appropriate business and legal records. We review it when the enquiry ends and delete or anonymise it when there is no continuing business, contractual or legal reason to retain it.

Statistics data is kept for the periods on our Cookies page: 2 months for detailed Google Analytics data, 30 days for most Clarity recordings (up to 9 months for favourites and a random sample kept by Microsoft) and 6 months for Cloudflare visit statistics.

Your rights

Depending on the circumstances, you may ask for access to your personal information, correction, deletion, restriction, objection or a portable copy. These rights are not absolute and may depend on why the information is being used. Where we rely on your consent, you can withdraw it at any time through Privacy choices; this does not affect what happened before you withdrew.

Complaints

If you are unhappy with how we have used your personal information, please tell us first at info@silverliningstays.com. We will acknowledge your complaint within 30 days, look into it and tell you the outcome. You can also complain to the Information Commission (the ICO) at any time, at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or on 0303 123 1113.

Changes to this notice

We will update this notice when the way we use personal information changes. The date at the top shows the latest version.
